Royal Legend Straight Egyptian Arabian horse breeding program was established in 1985. I rode excellent athletes as a young hunter-jumper rider growing up in Germany but found horses with airy gaits and his type and quality were hard to find in the United States.
My search for equally superlative Arabian Sporthorse athletes in the United States eventually led me to the German stallion licensing winner, *Bakil, who had recently been imported to the United States.
*Bakil was exceptional; he earned the highest score of all stallions presented for licensing that year - even against the warmbloods. He was a tall and impressive stallion with fabulous gaits, the right combination of excellent sport horse conformation, and the work ethic so valued by the German breeders. His pedigree was second to none, being a straight Egyptian son of the great Kaisoon and out of the influential Egyptian mare, Om El Arab.
*Bakil became a champion halter as well as champion performance stallion and winning racehorse who crossed exceptionally well on our select Gleannloch, Babson, Bentwood, and Imperial bred Egyptian mares. *Bakil gave us the athletic ability we were seeking along with his beauty and gentle temperament.
Today, his descendants show off his trademark, ground covering trot and "rocking chair canter" throughout our herd. This is what we look for when we select our breeding stock. Our straight Egyptian Arabians will please the most demanding dressage or hunter jumper riders looking for the big, round gaits valued in European competition.
Carefully choosing complementary bloodlines to blend into our straight Egyptian sport horse program makes for an exciting foaling season! We're expecting several foals for 2021. Our junior stallion, RLA Nakeeb Jak Bashek, is expecting two straight Egyptian foals this spring.
The Royal Legend Straight Egyptian Arabians horse breeding program creates horses that are uniformly well-conformed as well as beautiful; with kind temperaments, and wonderful working horse mindsets.
