Royal Legend Schooling Show May 4 th, 2003

Fees: $7/class, $5/no-judge (will be limited), and $5grounds fee/equine. Boarded horses do not pay a grounds fee. Limited stalls available: includes one night, hay, shavings, mucking, and grounds fee: $25. Call (979) 589-1638 for details.

Ribbons 1 st-6 th, except in leadline, and championship classes.

Leadline, large chocolate bars and small ribbons; Championships have Champion & Reserve ribbons.

Classes may be split or combined at the show management’s discretion.

It is suggested that ALL riders wear protective headgear. It is required for Children’s classes, and for over-fences classes. Waivers are on entry forms, and must be signed to show.

THE JUDGE’S DECISION WILL BE FINAL AND MAY NOT BE PROTESTED

All Halter horses and showmanship horses to be stood up as customary for their breed.

SHOWMANSHIP, HORSEMANSHIP, and OBSTACLE PATTERNS WILL BE POSTED

Snaffle bits allowed in all classes, but western curb bits must be ridden one handed.

Schooling tack not allowed in any class. Boots or wraps allowed in dressage classes.

Show open to all breeds and combinations of breeds of horse, donkey, mule, pony, or zebra.

Order of classes may vary slightly on show day. Be sure to check the website for any known changes.

Over fences classes:

Only 2 consecutive height divisions can be entered for being judged per horse/rider combination. Entry into other divisions can be only as “no-judge”. Heights for classes may be adjusted lower at show, depending on requests for heights.

Trot Only Cross Rails: Horses are expected to trot the course. Cantering will be penalized if not corrected before the next fence. Fences will be up to 18 inches high. 8 fences: twice around the outside.

1. Cross rails: cantering preferred. Up to 18” fences.
2. 2’ hunter over fences– may have panels, and rails
3. 2’ equitation over fences – rider judged

13. Driving readiness: no cart or buggy: only ground drive equine through pattern & obstacles. For equines NOT entered in other driving classes. 

Halter and Showmanship Classes. Classes held in arena.

 14. Arab & Light breeds in hand: mares – all ages.
15. QH & stock type breeds in hand: mares- all ages
16. Arab & Light breeds geldings in hand: - all ages
17. QH & stock type breeds in hand: geldings- all ages
18. Arab & Light breeds in hand: stallions- all ages
19. QH & stock type breeds in hand: stallions- all ages
20. Color halter: paints, pintos, appaloosas, palominos and buckskins. – all sexes and ages.
21. Championship Arab & Light breed Halter – 1 st and 2 nd place winners of all halter classes 1,3, 5 (and 7 if light or Arab type) will compete. Reserve and Champion only to be awarded.
22. Championship QH & stock type Halter – 1 st and 2 nd place winners of all halter classes 2,4,6 & 7 if QH or stock type, will compete. Reserve and Champion only to be awarded.
23. Youth Showmanship: handler’s 17 and under
34. Adult Showmanship: handler’s 18 and over
35. Stick Horse Class. Judged on way of going, and how well “horse” follows directions. Stick horses may be available for sale on the show grounds if you didn’t bring yours! This class will be in the grass field.

Short warm up allowed in arena at this time.

36. Leadline- For children that cannot ride alone. Protective headgear required. HORSE MUST BE LED BY HALTER NOT BY BIT
37. Children’s walk: (a judged class) for riders up to 12 years old only. Must wear protective headgear. Riders must walk and stop both directions of the arena on the rail as the judge asks. The riders will line up in the center as directed by the judge. The judge may ask the rider to back a couple steps in lineup. Any horse breaking into a trot will be penalized. NO CROSS ENTRY into other performance classes for riders. Huntseat or Stockseat. Grooms allowed to remain quietly in center of arena during class.
38. Children’s Walk-Trot: for riders up to 14 years old only. For beginner riders only. Huntseat or Stockseat. Must wear protective headgear. NO CROSS ENTRY into CANTER classes.
39. Youth Walk-Trot: Huntseat or Stockseat. Riders 17 and under. No cross entry into canter classes.
40. Adult Walk-Trot. Huntseat or Stockseat. Riders 18 and over. No cross entry into canter classes.
41. Green Horse Walk/Trot: no beginner riders. Green horses only. Schooling equipment allowed. No cross entry into canter classes.
42. Youth Hunter Pleasure: (W/T/C): Huntseat. Riders 17 and under.
43. Adult Hunter Pleasure: (W/T/C/ HG): Huntseat. Riders 18 and over
44. Huntseat Equitation (W/T/C): Huntseat. Riders 17 and under. Rider judged.
45. Huntseat Equitation (W/T/C): Huntseat. Riders 18 and over. Rider judged.
46. Hunter Horsemanship: Pattern class. Horse and Rider judged. All ages (W/T/C)
47. Hunter Pleasure Championship. (W/T/C): Champion and Reserve, 3 rd – 6 th. Open to all.
48. Dressage suitability: Horses may be ridden in dressage or hunter/all purpose saddles. Horses are judged on their suitability to perform dressage movements. Horses will be asked to collect and extend, and perform circles at the judge’s request. SNAFFLE BITS ONLY (W/T/C)
49. Dressage equitation: Rider’s judged. Collected, working, and extended gaits in W/T/C.
50. Trail -- WESTERN OR HUNTER TACK ALLOWED (move to paddock for this class- no practicing in course before class time) W/T/C or W/J/L. Please Enter only ONE trail class per horse/rider combination.
51. Beginner Trail: For the less experienced rider or horse, this trail class has a pattern & obstacles, but no canter/lope. It is a walk/trot only class. Please enter only ONE trail class per horse/rider combination. Western or Hunter tack allowed.

Short break here—warm up allowed – 10 minutes

52. Youth Western Pleasure: (W/J/L). Stockseat. Riders 17 and under
53. Adult Western Pleasure: (W/J/L). Stockseat. Riders 18 and over
54. Youth Stockseat Equitation. (Western) (W/J/L). Rider judged, riders 17 and under
55. Adult Stockseat Equitation. (Western) (W/J/L). Rider judged, riders 18 and over.
56. Western Horsemanship: (W/J/L). Pattern class. Horse and Rider judged. All ages
57. Western Pleasure Championship. (W/J/L). Champion and Reserve, 3 rd – 6 th. Open to all.
