It is suggested that ALL riders wear protective headgear. It is required for Children’s classes, and for over-fences classes. Waivers are on entry forms, and must be signed to compete. We have extra helmuts too.
THE JUDGE’S DECISION WILL BE FINAL AND
MAY NOT BE PROTESTED All Halter horses and showmanship horses
to be stood up as customary for their breed. SHOWMANSHIP, HORSEMANSHIP,
and OBSTACLE PATTERNS WILL BE POSTED. Snaffle bits allowed in all classes,
but western curb bits must be ridden one handed. Schooling tack not allowed
in any class. Boots or wraps allowed in dressage classes. Show open to
all breeds of horse, donkey, mule, pony, or zebra. Classes may be split
or combined at the show management’s discretion. Order of
classes may vary slightly on show day. All horses must have current
negative coggin’s test pulled within the last 12 months.
No-Judge : You
can enter classes as No-Judge, however, space is limited, and so is time.
If the show management deems that there is not enough time or space for
no-judges, they will be limited and/or cancelled, and your no-judge fees
returned for any class you are not allowed to ride in.
Halter Classes: each class is for all ages
of the appointed sex of equine. You should determine if your equine is
a “light breed” or “stock type breed” before entering.
Championship Halter is for the 1 st and
2 nd placing equines in all halter classes. Entry is automatic and the
equine must join the class if you placed 1 st or 2 nd in another halter
class.
Youth: any rider/handler 17 years of age
or younger. Adult: and rider/handler 18 years of age
or older.
Showmanship: an “in hand” class
where the handler is judged.
Driving readiness: the equine is ground
driven through an obstacle pattern. No Cart or buggy.
No cross entry allowed in other driving classes for that animal.
Leadline: equine must be led by a halter,
not by the bit. Halter can be over or under bridle. For riders who can’t
ride alone.
Children’s classes are judged. Rosettes
for 1 st – 6 th. Protective headgear required.
Children’s Walk is for riders 12
& under and the riders may not cross enter into any other riding classes
except the Children’s walk-trot. In-hand classes are allowed.
Children’s walk-Trot is for riders
14 & under. Riders that did not enter children’s walk may enter
other trotting classes, but no class that requires a canter.
Walk-Trot classes: Riders may not cross
enter into any class that requires a canter.
Green Horse: Horse cannot cross enter into
any class that requires a canter. Schooling equipment allowed.
Pleasure Championships are open to everyone.
Trail: Both Hunter and Western tack are
allowed. The equine’s performance will be judged, not your tack.
Please enter only ONE trail class to be judged. Trail is
W/T/C (W/J/L), Beginner Trail is W/T (W/J).
Dressage suitability: Asks for low-level
dressage movements in a group atmosphere. Snaffle bits only.
Over fences classes: protective headgear
required. Only two consecutive heights may be entered as judged. Entry
into other divisions can be “no-judge” if time and space allows.
Trot only cross rails: just that, cantering
over a fence will be penalized. Jumps up to 18”
Cross rails: this is a canter course of
up to 18” fences.
Royal Legend is a NO SMOKING facility. Smoking will
ONLY be permitted in the gravel area outside the main gate.
Because this show is considered a family activity,
and many children will be present: we ask that you do NOT bring alcoholic
beverages onto the show grounds on the day of the how. Thank you.
For the safety of all, we require exhibitors and
their parties to place all trash/debris in trash cans.
A negative coggin's test within 12 months is required of
any horse entering the show grounds. All riders/handlers are required
to sign a liability waiver form before participating.
Classes will begin with the hunter over fences, then halter,
then driving, then the hunter on the flat, then the walk/trot classes,
and the trail classes, and finally the western/stockseat classes.
The arena is outdoors, but our shows have always been blessed
with exceptionally good weather. If it does rain, the show may take a
break, but will continue afterwards.
Free to spectators!
Seating is limited, so bring lawn chairs.
